I installed Thunderbird from U3 Dowload Central and Help About reports that it is at 1.5.0.5 which is later than 1.5.0.42

So why are you posting this as the latest? or have I missed something?

The version on U3 Software Central is 1.5.0.42. I just downloaded it and checked "Help/About". It is listed as version 1.5.0.4.

I assume you clicked on "Help/Check for Updates...", which will automatically update the current version to 1.5.0.5.

Will the U3 version sync with the desktop version?

Hi did you find an answer to this as I want to use Thunderbird on both PC & U3 but am stuck with Cruzer sync which only syns to Outlook

Hi I did updated my Mozilla Thunderbird from do U3 download central to 1.5.0.42 and the application stop working and blocked my U3 Smart drive
so did not find any help about because it didnt star any way. manualy update do normal portable version 1.5.0.8 from thunderbird update but still on the u3 smart drive sttings is 1.5.0.42.

when i read up on thunderbird. It said that you could access http email with it. I tryed and it didnt work. Am i doing something wrong or does it not do that.

When?! I guess it's the same problem as Firefox 2... Please, someone must have a workaround so that U3 users can get on with life whilst the good people of Mozilla and U3 discuss whose project it is...

on my desktop i have aol yahoo beta and hotmail working.
on my u3 i am still working to get aol to work.

I am an extension junkie; After installing many, the only problem I have run across is MR Local Tech Install; DO NOT INSTALL this EXTENSION!; None of your themes/ extensions work after install! If you have installed it; click it [even though it will say "install after restart" and click uninstall, then restart. Thunderbird, should work fine after that; although it did remove all of my toolbar buttons from toolbar buttons extension of the toolbars.

I installed version 1.5.0.42 on my U3 drive a last week, and performed the upgrades. I saw that it upgraded all the way to version 2.0.0.*. Since then, my U3 drive crashed, I reformatted and started installing my programs back on. I installed the version from U3 Download Central, but that version will not upgrade to version 2. I`ve tried upgrading several times, but it just tells me no upgrades are available.

Any ideas ? Has U3 Thunderbird version 2 been proved faulty and taken off the upgrades list ?

Mozilla Thunderbird or Firefox (for U3) are both not localized in the German language.

How do you uninstall this program? If I go to "Manage U3 Programs", select Mozilla Thunderbird from the left hand side, the "Remove" button is greyed out

Just figured out my problem (: I Ejected the U3 first and then went back into Manage U3 Programs and I was able to uninstall it.

This is the Mozilla Official U3 Smart Build of Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0.0.4 (en-US). Once you have installed, you can go to the Menu bar > "Help" > "Check for updates..." and download and install the latest Mozilla Thunderbird release. The current version is "2.0.0.14 (20080421)".
