I consider PStart works better than Xtraveller does for a launcher for non-U3 programs. Although you cannot find PStart in www.u3.com, get it from www.portableapps.com. I would suggest to have a launcher program sits in the U3 launchpad, and offer a sub-menu to all non-U3 applications. 7-zip portable is my favour non-U3 application.

can't remember where on the portableapps.com forum I saw it, but you can make any USB portable application U3. I've got 7zip, abiword, Freemind (mind mapping), xmplay (Mp3 player) Google Talk and foxitPDF reader all in my u3 menu.
But I agree a little sub menu for non U3 aware apps would be great. Even better would be a way to more easily make portable apps U3 aware. Re: Re: Re: NEW: Xtraveller 1.1.01 - utilities

Just putting a short cut on the LaunchPad does NOT make a program a U3 program. I use a short cut to have PStart on my list, and use PStart to run my Non-U3 programs. This reminds me when I run them that they are not U3 programs and I need to pay special attention when I use them (e.g. make sure I shut them down properly).

www.eure.ca
Program wich converts most portable non-u3 aware programs into u3p files, wich LaunchPad can find and install. Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: NEW: Xtraveller 1.1.01 - utilities

Package Factory doesn't watch registry entries or so. It's like installing a non-U3-program onto the U3-stick.
If you really want to convert an application to U3, i.e. so that all registry stuff gets removed from the host upon eject, take a look there: http://www.autohotkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11839 . Trackbacks
