Crap
Thought this was a good idea so I registered with them for 5 dollars. Only to find out that you have to leave your U3 device unlocked to make it work. The FindMyU3 notification only turns up after you have logged in with your password. Does not work on password protected devices. Re: NEW: Find My U3 4.2.1.25 - security

The thing I hate about this is they are not completly up front about their business. I can't find anywhere on their web site where they mention the the fee. When they say it is a free download it is a dead giveaway. But I can't find out how the system works or that the charge for the service.
It would be much better to be upfront about the fee. They will not get my business as a result of this borderline dishonest approach to getting our money. Forget this. Re: Re: NEW: Find My U3 4.2.1.25 - security

Thank you for your feedback. It was never our intention to mislead anyone. Our site will from today show the cost clearly on the front page.
Also we are changing the structure to allow for you to select from 2 to 5 years coverage by Find My U3 at USD $ 1.00 per year. The information on the U3 website will be changed later this week to reflect these changes. Re: NEW: Find My U3 4.2.1.25 - security

False advertising!!!, THIS IS NOT FREE, YOU MUST REGISTER.
I wish U3 website would not mark this as a FREE app. This makes me lose total confidence on the integrity of the U3 people for not knowing the difference. They never answered my emails, they have no respect for their customers. Re: Re: NEW: Find My U3 4.2.1.25 - security

Find My U3 is a seperate entity to U3 itself.
We are based in Auckland, New Zealand. If you have questions about the system, email us at staff@findmyu3.com Our reason for not placing the system for sale via the U3 web site is simple. U3 take a 25% commission on sales made through the web site. Who would we pass that onto? For that reason we have used our own e-commerce arrangements. The description in the U3 web site is being changed over the next couple of days. Re: NEW: Find My U3 4.2.1.25 - security

OK... So it been a couple of years now, and the website www.findmyu3.com doesn't exists anymore. So how am I going to report a stolen U3 device? I guess I was naive enough to think that something like this was going to work actually. Money wasted. Not even 5 years the website lasted. Where is the new email address or the new website for them? It looked like a very well planned scam. I don't want to offend, but that is what this look like. However, if they are still around I would like to hear from them.
In short words, stay away from "fishy" programs that offer and promises a lot. Might not be that good after all. I would like to be prove wrong, but I don't think I will be... Trackbacks
